And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. – Matthew 16:18
Read that verse, and read it again. It stirs a fire in my soul. “the gates of hell shall not prevail” We, as the church, are not to wait for the fight to come to us but for us to bring the fight to the enemy. The church is to fight the enemy!
- For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; – 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
- Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. – Ephesians 6:11-12
We are called to war. Not a war against humanity, but a war against evil, sin, and Satan! We, as Christians, have become lazy. And what happens in our laziness? Evil rises. We need to hear our call again, we need to bring the fight to the enemy. We cannot sit here in our laziness anymore. We need to bring back the fight!
