2 Timothy 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
God has called us to a higher calling (klēsis.) Not because of what we’ve done, but because of what He’s done. Holy (hagios) in the Greek language means: sacred (physically pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially consecrated.) God has called us to a sacred and pure calling. He isn’t calling us to be just like the world, but to be set apart. And the only way we can be set apart is by the grace of His son, Jesus.
