John 1:1-2,14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
1 Timothy 6:3-4a If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing.
Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
God and His Word are one. Jesus came and was the Word, spoke the Word, and fulfilled the Word. If we want to draw closer to God we must draw closer to His word because He is the Word. When you read things in the Bible, you are learning more about God. Every word in there is for our benefit and His glory. But you can’t just take parts of the Bible. The Bible only works as one. If you take away any of the Bible or decide that something in the Bible doesn’t matter, you are criticizing God, because the Word is God. No matter how much you dislike any of God’s commandments, they are His commandments that you must follow. God doesn’t come on your terms, He comes with all or nothing. It’s either Him or the world. You can’t choose parts of God and parts of the world.
