Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. – Ephesians 4:29 (ESV)
Let all that you do be done in love. – 1 Corinthians 16:14 (ESV)
While it may be very common for you to make a quick remark about something, you need to be careful when and how it’s said. While what you say may be true, how are you speaking it? It is easy to be very condescending in the way we speak to others, but we need to speak everything in love. No one will listen to hate, and anger, and sarcastic remarks – but they will listen to love and care. It doesn’t mean to skirt around the issues, but it means to be careful how you present them. Something you say may seem completely harmless to you, but it could have a negative reaction on someone else.
This is just a little food for thought for me and anyone else reading this. Think before you speak.
