Proverbs 3:13-15 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
Proverbs 1:5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:
Matthew 6: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
It is very clear to see that wisdom is not only good and precious, it is essential to learning. Wisdom is better than any material thing you can desire or receive. There is a also an important thing to point out, wisdom and knowledge are two different things. Knowledge is knowing information and wisdom is using that information in a good way. Proverbs was written mainly by Solomon. He was the wisest king that Israel had. He was wise even before he asked God for wisdom. And he was wise because he asked God for wisdom. He asked God specifically for wisdom. He never asked God for riches or land. But because God could see that Solomon truly wanted wisdom, He gave it to him. But not only wisdom, He gave him riches and land. When we are living to truly honor God, He will bless us.
