Walking In Light

Colossians 2:6 – As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

1 John 1:5-7 – This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us from all sin.

Psalm 119:105 – Thy word is a lamp unto my, and a light unto my path.

It is one thing to say you are a Christian and it is another thing to be following Christ. I’ve constantly found myself putting on the mask of the perfect little Christian girl who grew up in Church and is innocent of the outside world. While there is nothing wrong with innocence, you can’t claim to be something you are not. And just because you know things about the world doesn’t mean you have to participate in the activity. I find myself plenty of times at a crossroads between what I know is right, and what will make me look good in the eyes of my friends. I’m slowly coming to grips with the knowledge that it’s better to walk in God than to walk in sin. In the darkness you cannot see the evil that lies ahead, but in God’s light He shows you the way.
